Are you looking for something new to read, but trying not to spend a ton of money? Good news – I'm giving away new and like new books!
When Hurricane Matthew came up the coast a few weeks ago, we lost power. Without power, the sump pumps stopped working and yep, you guessed it, we had water in the basement.
Besides some out of season clothes, water damaged dozens of books we had stashed away. Good books that we already read and were saving to bring upstairs ‘some day'.
It made me realize there is something better and more productive we could do with the books that remained.
Sharing Good Books
As a part of my work for my personal finance site, I pick books for research and get sent review copies from authors and their teams
While I certainly love seeing what's new and out there, these books aren't doing any good just sitting on my shelf.
I'm taking Courtney's advice on passing on books once they've been read and enjoyed.
I want to send them off to new homes to be read, loved, and perhaps shared with others. It's also my way of saying thank you!
Here's what I'm sharing:
You Only Live Once:
The $1,000 Challenge
Can I Retire?:
Choose Your Retirement:
The Back of the Napkin: Solving Problems and Selling Ideas with Pictures
I picked up this book as I was working to improve my note taking skills to incorporate more visuals. Lots of takeaways.
Thoughts on Passing On Books
If you're interested, please email me to set things up. I'll send them through media mail for readers in US.
If you like them faster or you live internationally, you have to pay for the upgraded shipping.
What do you do after you finish a book? Do you keep in your collection? Do you sell or donate? If so, what are your favorite sites or places?
